Bandsaw Blades for Machine Shops and Tool Rooms
Machine shops cut everything: 4140 bar for the mill, A2 flat stock for the tool room, aluminum plate for fixtures, and the odd contour job on the vertical saw. We stock carbon and bi-metal Arntz lines to cover the whole floor, each welded to your saw's exact length in Hamilton.
What Slows These Shops Down
Tool steels dull ordinary blades
A2, D2, and H13 work-harden and grind down standard edges. M42 cobalt teeth keep their bite through alloy and annealed tool steel.
One saw, fifty materials
Bar stock in the morning, castings after lunch. We spec a general purpose blade that covers what you actually cut, not what the catalogue assumes.
Contour work needs narrow blades
Vertical saws cutting radii need narrow, fine pitch carbon blades. We weld CS-1 down to the widths your DoAll actually takes.
What We Cut For This Industry
- Alloy bar stock (4140, 4340)
- Tool steels, annealed
- Stainless bar and plate
- Aluminum and brass
- Castings and forgings
- Contour and pattern work
Blades We Recommend
Aggressive M42 for alloy and work-hardening grades. The cut-off saw blade for shops cutting alloy steel every day.
CS-1 Carbon
Narrow carbon blade for vertical and contour saws. Fine pitches for radii, aluminum, and thin stock at a price that suits short runs.
X-FIT M42
The all-rounder when the same saw sees mild steel, alloy, and the occasional stainless drop.

Find Blades For Your MachineFrequently Asked Questions
Can I cut hardened tool steel on a bandsaw?
Annealed tool steel cuts fine on M42 bi-metal. Through-hardened stock above roughly 45 HRC needs carbide: our BLACK-LINE TC handles case-hardened and hard alloy work. If you are not sure what state your stock is in, call and we will talk it through.
What blade width for contour cutting?
Radius decides width: a 1/4 inch blade turns roughly a 5/8 inch radius, a 1/2 inch blade about 2-1/2 inches. We weld CS-1 in narrow widths for exactly this work.
Do you sell single blades or only boxes?
Single blades, welded to order. Machine shops rarely need ten of anything. Order one, test it, and reorder when it earns its keep.
