Why Shops Choose the CS-1

Flexible Band Back

Pin-point quality flexible band back absorbs vibration and tracks true on smaller machines — ideal for vertical and horizontal workshop saws.

Wide TPI Range

Available from 2 to 32 TPI with standard (0°) and hook tooth options, covering everything from coarse roughing to fine finishing cuts.

Hardened Teeth

Hardened tooth tips on a carbon steel body deliver reliable cuts through mild steel and non-ferrous materials at an economical price point.

Economy Choice

The most cost-effective blade in the Arntz lineup — perfect for maintenance shops, hobbyists, and general-purpose workshop cutting.

Built for Everyday Workshop Cutting

Application Tier

Frequently Asked Questions

The CS-1 is designed for mild steel, low-carbon steel, and non-ferrous metals. It's suited for everyday workshop cutting, maintenance tasks, and general fabrication where economy and reliability matter more than high-performance cutting speed.
A carbon bandsaw blade uses hardened carbon steel teeth on a flexible band back. Unlike bi-metal blades (which have M42 high-speed steel tips), carbon blades are more economical and work well for lighter-duty cutting. The CS-1's flexible pin-point quality band back tracks true on smaller workshop saws.
Yes. Every Arntz CS-1 blade we sell is custom loop-welded in-house at our Hamilton, Ontario facility to your machine's exact loop length. We do not sell stock lengths — each blade is made to order. Just enter your machine's loop length in inches or millimetres in the configurator above, and we'll weld it to spec.
The CS-1 is available in widths from 3×0.65mm (1/8"×.025") up to 32×1.10mm (1¼"×.042"). Tooth pitch options range from 2 TPI up to 32 TPI, with both standard tooth (0° rake) and hook tooth geometry available depending on width.
Standard tooth (0° rake angle) provides a straight tooth face for controlled, smooth cuts — good for thin sections and harder materials. Hook tooth has a positive rake angle that cuts more aggressively, clearing chips faster — better for softer materials and larger cross-sections. Call us at 1-800-957-2690 for help choosing the right option.
The CS-1 is the right choice when you're cutting mild steel and non-ferrous materials in a workshop or maintenance setting and want a cost-effective blade. For higher-volume production, harder materials, or longer blade life, step up to a bi-metal blade like the Sprint-Plus or X-FIT.
Most custom-welded blades ship within 1–2 business days from our Hamilton facility. We keep Arntz blade coil stock on hand in all standard widths, so turnaround is fast. For urgent needs, call us directly and we'll do our best to accommodate same-day welding.
