German Engineered M51 Bi-Metal

ARNTZX-PRO MAX

M51 bi-metal blade with extra-heavy set for steel construction

The Arntz X-PRO MAX combines M51 high-speed steel with an extra-heavy set design for steel construction applications. The extra-heavy set, combined with M51's hardness, enhances the blade's ability to withstand higher stresses and resist wear. Superior heat resistance from the M51 steel's high-temperature performance makes it the go-to blade for heavy-duty structural beam cutting — wide-flange beams, heavy-walled sections, and large profiles.

Why Fabricators Choose the X-PRO MAX

Higher Stress & Wear Resistance

The extra-heavy set design, combined with M51's hardness, enhances the blade's ability to withstand higher stresses and resist wear during demanding steel construction cutting.

Superior Heat Resistance

Superior heat resistance for heavy-duty cuts due to the M51 steel's high-temperature performance. The powder metallurgically produced M51 maintains hardness at extreme cutting temperatures.

Better Chip Removal

The X-PRO extra-heavy set allows for a more aggressive cutting action, providing better chip removal and reducing the risk of pinching in materials with high residual stress.

Steel Construction Specialist

Purpose-built for steel construction — wide-flange beams and heavy-walled structural sections where standard-set blades struggle with chip clearance and residual stress.

Built for Steel Construction

Application Tier

The X-PRO MAX is built for steel construction. The extra-heavy set design, combined with M51's hardness, enhances the blade's ability to withstand higher stresses and resist wear. The M51 steel's high-temperature performance delivers superior heat resistance for heavy-duty cuts, while the extra-heavy set allows for a more aggressive cutting action — providing better chip removal and reducing the risk of pinching in wide-flange beams and heavy-walled structural sections.

Frequently Asked Questions

The X-PRO MAX is designed specifically for cutting heavy structural steel profiles — wide-flange beams, heavy-walled sections, and large structural shapes where high residual stress causes standard blades to bind or jam. Its extra-heavy set and M51 cutting edge make it the go-to blade for steel service centres handling large beams.
Both blades use M51 high-speed steel tooth tips. The key difference is the set design: the X-PRO has a standard set for general structural steel and fabrication cutting, while the X-PRO MAX has an extra-heavy set designed specifically for steel construction — wide-flange beams and heavy-walled sections with high residual stress. The extra-heavy set allows for more aggressive cutting action, providing better chip removal and reducing the risk of pinching. The X-PRO also comes in more width options (41mm, 54mm, 67mm) while the X-PRO MAX is available in 54×1.60mm and 67×1.60mm only.
Large structural beams (especially wide-flange I-beams) contain significant residual stress from the rolling process. As you cut through the beam, the material can shift and pinch the blade. The X-PRO extra-heavy set allows for a more aggressive cutting action, providing better chip removal and reducing the risk of pinching. This reduces blade breakage, downtime, and wasted material.
The X-PRO MAX is available in two width/thickness combinations: 54×1.60mm (2"×.063") and 67×1.60mm (2⅝"×.063"). Both widths offer 2/3 and 3/4 TPI variable tooth pitch. Use 2/3 TPI for larger cross-sections and 3/4 TPI for smaller profiles.
Yes. Every Arntz X-PRO MAX blade we sell is custom loop-welded in-house at our Hamilton, Ontario facility to your machine's exact loop length. We do not sell stock lengths — each blade is made to order.
Most custom-welded blades ship within 1–2 business days from our Hamilton facility. We keep Arntz blade coil stock on hand in all standard widths, so turnaround is fast. For urgent production needs, call us directly and we'll do our best to accommodate same-day welding.
Yes. Graham Machine Sales & Service provides full band saw machine service, maintenance, and repair across Ontario. Whether you need a blade guide alignment, wheel replacement, hydraulic repair, or a complete machine overhaul, our technicians handle it. We also sell new and used industrial band saw machines.
Absolutely. Call us at 1-800-957-2690 or use the contact form on our site. Tell us your machine make/model, the materials you're cutting (type, grade, and cross-section), and your production volume. We'll recommend the optimal blade width, tooth pitch, and feed/speed settings.
Yes. While we're based in Hamilton and the majority of our customers are in Ontario (GTA, Niagara, Kitchener-Waterloo, London, Windsor, Ottawa), we ship custom-welded bandsaw blades across Canada. Contact us for shipping details and lead times to your location.
