ARNTZX-FIT MAX

Heavy structural steel & beam cutting blade

The Arntz X-FIT MAX is the powerhouse blade for machining large profiles and beams. Built with an extra wide tooth set and robust geometry, it delivers extended blade life even in demanding bundle cutting with high chip volumes. The extra wide set prevents jamming in materials with high residual stress — making it the go-to blade for structural steel service centres and heavy fabrication shops.

Why Fabricators Choose the X-FIT MAX

Extra Wide Tooth Set

The widened set angle (5–7°) prevents jamming in materials with high residual stress and creates generous chip clearance through large cross-sections.

Robust Tooth Geometry

Heavy-duty tooth design absorbs the intense shock of interrupted cuts through wide-flange beams, heavy-walled sections, and bundled materials without chipping.

M42 HSS Edge

Cobalt-alloyed M42 high-speed steel tooth tips resist extreme cutting temperatures and maintain hardness far beyond carbon steel.

Extended Blade Life

Stable tooth design and extra wide set combine to deliver long service life even in bundle cutting with increased chip volume and high feed pressures.

Built for Heavy Structural Cutting

Application Tier

The X-FIT MAX is purpose-built for cutting large structural profiles — wide-flange beams, heavy-walled I-beams, and bundled steel. Its extra wide set and robust tooth geometry handle the high residual stresses found in heavy structural sections, preventing blade jamming and ensuring clean, straight cuts with long blade life.

Frequently Asked Questions

The X-FIT MAX is purpose-built for cutting large structural steel profiles — wide-flange beams (W-shapes), heavy-walled I-beams and H-beams, bundled structural sections, and other large cross-sections where high residual stress and interrupted cuts are common. It excels in steel service centres and heavy fabrication environments.
The X-FIT MAX has an extra wide tooth set (5–7° set angle) compared to the standard X-FIT. This wider set creates more chip clearance and prevents blade jamming in materials with high residual stress — a common issue when cutting heavy beams and bundled steel. The X-FIT MAX is built specifically for the largest, heaviest structural cutting, while the standard X-FIT covers general structural and fabrication work.
The tooth set refers to how far the teeth are bent alternately left and right from the blade body. An extra wide set creates a wider kerf (cut channel), which provides more clearance for chips to escape and prevents the blade from binding or jamming in the material. This is critical when cutting wide-flange beams and heavy sections where the blade passes through varying cross-sections and encounters high residual stresses.
Yes. Every Arntz X-FIT MAX blade we sell is custom loop-welded in-house at our Hamilton, Ontario facility to your machine's exact loop length. We do not sell stock lengths — each blade is made to order. Just enter your machine's loop length in inches or millimetres in the configurator above, and we'll weld it to spec.
The X-FIT MAX is available in four width/thickness combinations: 34×1.10mm (1¼"×.042"), 41×1.30mm (1½"×.050"), 54×1.60mm (2"×.063"), and 67×1.60mm (2⅝"×.063"). Tooth pitch availability varies by width: 34mm offers 3/4 TPI; 41mm offers 2/3, 3/4, and 4/6 TPI; 54mm and 67mm offer 2/3 and 3/4 TPI. Use coarser pitches for the largest profiles and finer pitches for smaller beams.
Most custom-welded blades ship within 1–2 business days from our Hamilton facility. We keep Arntz blade coil stock on hand in all standard widths, so turnaround is fast. For urgent production needs, call us directly and we'll do our best to accommodate same-day welding.
Yes. Graham Machine Sales & Service provides full band saw machine service, maintenance, and repair across Ontario. Whether you need a blade guide alignment, wheel replacement, hydraulic repair, or a complete machine overhaul, our technicians handle it. We also sell new and used industrial band saw machines.
Absolutely. Call us at 1-800-957-2690 or use the contact form on our site. Tell us your machine make/model, the materials you're cutting (type, grade, and cross-section), and your production volume. We'll recommend the optimal blade width, tooth pitch, and feed/speed settings.
Yes. While we're based in Hamilton and the majority of our customers are in Ontario (GTA, Niagara, Kitchener-Waterloo, London, Windsor, Ottawa), we ship custom-welded bandsaw blades across Canada. Contact us for shipping details and lead times to your location.
